Question about Sony KV-32V68 32" TV
My KV-32V68 screen takes longer than usal to come on. VHS or DVD had same problems. The audio comes on right away. The red LED (power light) flashes anywhere from 7 (when TV is warm) to 30 when cold (overnight). I guess the number of blinks tells you what general areas to look at. The problem progressively got worse to where the screen was blinking on and off even when TV set was on for few hours (warmed-up), inaddition of picture color was phasing in and out with strong green hues. Tapping/slapping the set did not help. Took the back off to clean and inspect for loose connectors, cracked boards, leaking caps, etc. Didn't find anything. I did find a two adjustments ("Sharpness" on top screw and "Screen" on the bottom) on what looks like a transformer. I started to tweek the screen adjustment to the right and screen came on and stayed on, noticed that further adjustment to right made the picture contrast fade with green tint and with blue horizontal lines appearing towards the end. Adjusting to the left made the picture contrast darker and followed by total dark screen. Adjusted to happy place where picture wasn't going out (no problems for 2 days so far!). I'm sure there is something going out on this set as it take long tome for the screen to come on. Maybe some caps, power supply, or some board are going out? I'm guessing that whatever is going bad is not holding a charge like a Cap or inadiquate power supply to the caps? I did find the service code page but don't know the setting requirement as I don't have the serice manual for this set. This set has very nice picture quality and I would like to keep/fix it myself. I did see a repair kits (depending on the number of flashes) on-line but not sure if it's right for this problem. Everyone, including my wife is telling me to buy a new big screen HDTVs! I still want to fix this set, instead of dumping in the local landfill for $10 when the screen finally goes out! Please help with this repair! I have access to a nice PACE soldering station, and other electronic repair tool/equipment.
I will suggest you put the screen control back to where it was,the unit has a lot of loose conections in the power supply, horizontal driver transformer and possibly crt board,if you keep using it like this it will go dead completly and the repair will be more expensive,be safe and call a person who is qualified and get an estimate.

Connect a set of RCA audio and video cables to the color-coded outputs
on the back of your Samsung VHS/DVD player. The colors of these cables are
yellow (video), white (left audio) and red (right audio).
Take the other end of the RCA audio and video cables and connect them to
the color-corresponding inputs on your television. When plugging in these
cables, look for a label for the input, such as "Video 1" and
"Audio 1." This will be important in Step 5.
Turn on the television and the Samsung VHS/DVD player.
Tune your television to the video input channel that you noted in Step
3. If you did not take note, you can also tune through your television's input
channels until you find the one displaying the signal from the DVD/VCR player.
Insert a VHS tape or DVD into the Samsung player and press the
"Play" button to verify that the unit is functioning properly.
Component Video
Plug the power cable of the Samsung VHS/DVD player into an available
power outlet near the television.
Connect a set of component video cables to the color-coded outputs on
the back of your Samsung VHS/DVD player. These cables will look similar to
composite audio and video cables, but they are instead color-coded as red, blue
and green.
Plug the other end of the component video cables into the
color-corresponding inputs on your television. Take note of what input number
you are plugging the cords into, as it will be useful later.
Connect a set of RCA audio cables to "Audio Out" jacks on your
VHS/DVD player, then connect the other ends to your television. These cables
are color-coded as red and white and must be plugged into the same input number
as the component video cables.
Turn on the television and the Samsung VHS/DVD player.
Tune your television to the component video input channel where you
connected the Samsung VHS/DVD player.
Insert a VHS or DVD into the Samsung player and press the "Play"
button to verify that the unit is functioning properly.
