I was watching TV last night and out of nowhere the tv just made a zzzzt and turned off. I cant turn it back on. Is the TV even worth having it looked at? or should I send it to the curb? Crappy to say that i actually spent $1600.00 back in the day on it. Thanks Jim

Yes this set was top of the line back then as I repaired tons of them. These days its going to most likly cost you 250 to 300 bucks to repair this as it sounds like the flyback transformer and the horiz. transistor are bad, along with most likly a few dryed up capacitors. I would not invest anything into this set, but you are the owner and you have to ask yourself "do I want to invest in a set that your not sure what else will go bad?" Invest in a shiney new flat panel or a microdisplay set.

Hello Jrallen,
I've just plugged in the cable line to my '98 Sony 35" TV with the new indoor antenna (Philips). It comes with a 75/300 ohm Transformer...The instructions are vague to this lady on what to do with this little accessory. Can you help me? Thank you so much!!
