my HP 530 doesn't read DVD's or CD's anymore but it is detected in the computer menu. but everytime I insert any DVD or CD on it tells me that there is no disc on it, I also tried to update it's driver but nothing happened.

good morning! please try to check the jumper settings (Master/Slave) as well as the cable connections of your CD/DVD ROM, if still CD/DVD Drive doesn't work, kindly try to connect/use another CD/DVD ROM - if this work, then the previous CD/DVD ROM laser lens is defective. best regards
My cd/dvd rom dont work coz the drive has change to another one.I think take windows xp/vista/7/8 with an usb and inslat it. When windows finished installing try to format it because the dvd and cd rom are fixed . Thnx

i cant get you. cd/dvd is not working or cd/dvd rom drive is not working ? To work cd/dvd rom drive properly, Make sure the Jumper settings of the drive is set to slave or else remove all the jumpers from the cd/dvd rom drive, it automatically sets to slave. Check the power cable and the FRC(flat ribbon cable) of the cd/dvd rom drive. Hopefully it should work. Thank you.
