Power problem My tv doesn't turn off completely. The picture goes off, but the power light stays on and I can see some lights on through the vent holes on the back. I tried unplugging, hoping it would reset itself, no help, except everything goes off.

You have a relay getting stuck or a power supply problem,either one needs the help of a qualified technician to diagnose and correct,there are dangerous voltages and You should not be around them unless you are familiar with this type of work.Be safe and call for an estimate.

It can be a couple things. Something bad on the power board. Or the vertical output circuit. How long ago did you purchase the television. Your best course of action is to have it serviced.

Did you check the service manual troubleshooting guide yet. You can try disconnecting the power to the inverter board and see if it will stay on and have sound.
