Cannot get my USB wireless-G adapter to work

My computer crashed and I need to reinstall some of my programs. I cannot get my wireless-g to be recognized.

When I put the Linksys CD into the computer it prompts me to connect to the enternet. DUH! How can I until I can get the adapter to work? My linksys router is already working on 3 other computers, so a signal is going out. It is not practical for me to move my computer to the router for a hard connection. How do I get the computer to recognize my adapter and its signal?

Windows 8 computer won't detect netgear n300

It might not need for WIn8 to detect the adapter. when that screen appears cancel/close of otherwise kill the process and see if the adapter is recognized in Device Manager without any error icons.

Windows Vista crashes when I connect my Linksys wusb54g wireless adapter. It worked fine for about 3 months, then started crashing, now I can't have it connected, or it crashes instantly.

This is a software conflict of the linksys device to your system, so to correct this remove first the software from your computer and then after that restart the computer and then connect the adapter on different usb port , if still having the same problem i will suggest that you have the device replace.....

Can't re-install 2Wire USB Wireless adapter

If you are on windows vista it could be your driver. You can go into safe mode on the computer with F8 while the computer is starting up, then go to the control panel and device manager. Plug the adapter in and remove the driver for it. Download a new driver at http://support.2wire.com/index.php?page=download and install it.
