Ask them, they can get you virtually EVERY manual - within hours. The service is not for free, but most times worthy.
If you want to switch to photo mode you have to have photo paper in the printer. As for the user manual you did get one, just not in paper form. Kodak has the user manual on the software CD or you can go to kodak.com. The reason it's not in paper form is because the user manual is more than 100 pages.
