Re: Samsung Side by Side Refrigerator RS2556SH - Making...
Hi, had the same problem with my RS21DCNS engineer came and made a modification to drain hole (made the hole bigger!) this allows for a little more ice to form without causing the horrid noise. A new backplate was ordered as all new models have a larger hole in the backplate already. It only takes a few mins and it under guarantee if you bought less than 2 yrs ago, but you will have to empty fridge side to allow them to get to inside at the back. Good luck.

There are a few reasons why the refrigerator part will not cool...here are a couple of tips that will help you to figure out why the refrigerantor is not cooling...
Sounds as if the evaporator fan has shaft play or the blades are out of balance or striking something. When you open the door the pressure is equal but with the door closed the fan needs to push the air through the evaporator and return again and circle through fan again. I think soon would be a good time to unplug the refrigerator and remove the back panel covering the evaporator and fan motor to inspect the fan, shaft play and the evaporator for frost buildup or any obstruction of air flow. That sound is usually your icemaker calling for water. you can turn off your icemaker by lifting the little arm on the icemaker. As the icemaker calls for water the valve will be activated and will hum. This sound is usually not very loud. If your valve is making that much noise you may consider replacing the valve. The part number for you water inlet valve is #2315533 The retail price is $60.18 . I do have these on hand and available to ship out today if you need one. Please just let me know. You may also consider replacing your filter if your refrigerator has one. Thanks and I hope this will fixYa Michael Anderson Anderson Appliance (865)945-3808
Does the sound occur when the compressor is starting or shutting down? and only lasts for a couple of seconds? I had one do the exact same thing. Sometimes it would also wake me up at night. If so, I'm afraid he is right. On the bright side, it worked fine for years. I gave it to a girlfriend when I purchased a bigger one and it is still working today. The only thing you can do is change the compressor, which is probably not $$ practical.
