Your probably having what cable guys call a SNR ( signal to noise ) issue. There's no way to know unless you call your cable provider. The SNR should be 32 and above with zero pre/post errors. In case you want to ask the tech what they are.

You may need to adjust the native resolution passthrough setting on your satellite tv box. Besides that you set 1080i on the satellite tv box not the tv. The tv just picks it up automatically. You may call the satellite tv company directly to ask for assistance in completing these two things.

Turn game mode on and put your xbox in hdmi 3 and if that doesnt work go to picture settings then advanced setting and turn dcm off

well most lcd and plasma tv's above 36" will look grainy on standard definition because they are made for high definition so if you do not receive a high definition signal to your tv then that would most likely be the problem

This unit is getting distortion form the video circuits, most likely capacitors or resistors causing distortion to the input or output circuits. The set may not be at fault. If you are on cable some channels are still in anolog and some are digital. if you are on a nolog channel the picture will look preaty bad compared to the digital ones.
