My remote works but it does not operate my television. The picture is perfect but there is a clicking noise and no sound on the TV. Since this tv only operates the settings with the remote,I cannot do anything. Is it possible for the sensor to be bad and can it be fixed?

Re: Remote works but does not operate TV... no sound
The tv can be repaired by a qualified Technician, the replacement of the sensor ? should not be too expensive, the question is if the tv reacts to some remote commands or to none,if it does not reacts it could be the remote too.The sensors go bad but very rarely.Good luck.

Check whether the audio is muted by accidental press at remote control button. Enter its sound menu, and check it. If muted, as you know there will be no audio output. If not muted, check the speaker/s. If found OK; check and replace the damaged component/s at its audio output section circuit board. If needy, replace this board as card basis. I think you are muting the the remote before you relocated...you need a remote to un-mute the sound of your TV...this cannot be done using the volume control in your TV unless you have the remote...if you loss the remote...buy a universal remote control
Once your television blinks about 9 times then it means there is a problem somewhere most likely the lamp of the television. Another source of this problem is also a bad capacitor from either the main panel or the power panel.
If your remote turns off actually it is because there is nothing to operate on the television, so once your television starts the blinking light, the remote will not be able to operate the television, once you unplug the television and plug it back then press the power button, the remote will do the same.
Until the television is fixed is when the remote will work normally.
I'm not really sure why it's doing that...are you sure the remote has working batteries? I know that's a dumb question, but some times it happens. I just checked my remote and I have pretty much the same tv as you. Maybe you're just not operating the remote correctly. Click on the menu button, use the channel up and down buttons to scroll up and down. Once you got to something you'd like to change, click on "ok" to the right. To adjust sound, time, date, setup stuff, just experiment with it. You either use the up and down channel buttons or the left and right volume controls. Once you're done, click on ok. If you want to go back, press menu again. Hope it helps.
the symptom is usually caused by a breakdown in the power supply circuit. in most modern receivers (transistorized and/or ic), it may also be caused by a breakdown in the horizontal deflection circuits (hor. oscillator, pre-drive, or drive circuits). supply voltages for the tuner, video if,sound if, and vertical output are usually supplied by the horizontal output circuit. but if you doesnt know anything about these stuffs, better bring it to a qualified service tecnhician
