If your Maytag MDE4658AYW electric dryer is running hot on all settings, even on air fluff, it is likely that the heating element is not working properly. Make sure that the heating element is securely connected to the dryer and that the power switch is in the "on" position. If the problem persists, you may need to replace the heating element or contact the manufacturer for assistance.
It may seem crazy, but you have to remove the dryer door, and then take the door apart to be able to replace the handle! I've tried doing it without taking the door apart, and I only ended up damaging the door and replacement handle!
Most likely you either have a door latch going bad that is letting the door pop open slightly when the clothes hit it or the door switch is going bad (or the wire is falling off of it) Good luck
Try Googling " user manual for Maytag Ensignia MDE4658AYW ". You may have to go to the Maytag web site and ask for manual. Sometimes I've had to ask for repair manual instead of user manual. Good luck.
You must remove the drum. Reach underneth the drum and locate the tentioner, then create some slack by pushing on the tensioner. Remove the belt from the tentioner and then the barrel. If you havent yet remove one end of the dryer where the barrel rides on the carpet sleave ring you will have to do that to get the barrel out. WATCH YOUR FINGERS. But before you dive off into this how are you sure that the motor is the issue? Dont work to get to the motor unless you have check all other components to ensure that the motor is realy the issue. A simple bad door switch will keep to motor from running, thats just onething of many that will keep it from running. Not trying to talk down to you I just dont know your level of knowledge. Hope this helps.
