Question about Samsung Digimax 420 Digital Camera

1 Answer

"No image"/"memory full"

When my Digimax 420 is powered up it tells me there are no images on the camera. Yet when I try to take a picture it tells me the memory is full. When I connect it to my computer there are pictures on the camera. It will not let me take a picture. It will not let me delete pictures since it tells me there aren't any. I put in new batteries. No help there. I do not have a memory card in the camera. I will be grateful for any help.

I have a memory card inserted which shows the photos on it.However when I try to download it tells me there are no images how can I fix this problem?

Make sure the pictures you are looking at are on the card, not the internal memory. Try to transfer them to the card using the setup menu. Change the default save area to memory card not internal.

Is San Disk memory card compatible with Digimax 401 ? I inserted one and got the message card errior.

Hi,
SD Memory Card is compatible with your Digimax 401 camera. You just need to format the card.
Formatting a memory card
** This is used for formatting the memory card. If you run [FORMAT] on the memory card, all
images, including the protected images, will be deleted. Be sure to download important
images to your PC before formatting the memory card.
** If the memory card is not inserted, the internal memory will be formatted.
** Be sure to format the memory card if you are using a newly purchased or non-initialized
memory card, if it contains data that the camera cannot recognize, or if it contains images
captured with a different camera.

Formatting a Memory Card
1. In any mode other than Voice Recording mode, press the MENU button.
2. Press the LEFT/ RIGHT button and select the [SETUP] menu tab.
3. Select the [FORMAT] menu by pressing the UP/ DOWN button and press the RIGHT button.
4. Select a desired sub menu by pressing the UP/ DOWN button and press the OK button.
- If [No] is selected : The memory card will not be formatted.
- If [Yes] is selected : A [PLEASE WAIT!] message appears and the memory card will be formatted. If you ran FORMAT in Play mode, a [NO IMAGE!] message will appear.

Using Internal Memory...now says memory full, no image!

I own the same camera, Not sure about no pictures showing in the memory but you can get a 2 gig memory card for around $20 in stores or around $15 or $16 on ebay, holds over 700 pictures at the highest resolution. Also try to download your pictures to your computer if you haven't already. Hope this helps.
