You need to check that there is a 12volt supply from the low tention wire at the solinoid when the key is turned, if there is not either the switch is bad, or the wire from the switch is bad, or the fuse has blown.

With my LT1024 I had the same symptoms. Turns out, approx every 40 hours or so the valves need to be adjusted. This fixed my problem.

You could have a seat safety switch bad. Bounce up and down on the set to work the safety switch often.

SOURCE: I have a cub cadet 1550, Blew fuse and wont disengage from gear

You have a bad wire which rubbed on the plastic housing to the engine block near the starter mower which causes a short and blows the fuse. I have the same tractor and this happened to mine also. The wire is red.

I have a 2006 cub cadet LT1050 lawn tractor with a Kohler SV720 engine. It will not turn over, I put a 200 amp jump on starter barely turns over, took plugs out turns over good. thought maybe exhaust valve...

Check oil level. If needle/float in carb stick gas can trickle down into crankcase and cause a condition like you listed. I would also check valve lash. If all these are good, check all grounds and connections, grounds, starter, solenoid. Clean all contacts with wire brush or emery cloth, could be electrical. Good luck and happy wrenching!

Won't turn over

you probably have a bad starter solenoid. You can check it by jumping across the two terminals. If it cranks over then it is bad, if it doesn't then you have another problem and need to check the battery cable connections and/or starter, but I would look at the solenoid first

Cub cadet model 1520 won't start.

Sounds to me like you might be having a problem with either your key switch, or more likely your starter. Although I have never had a starter go out on any riding mower Ive ever had, thats really what is sounds like. On the other hand, I have had many a key switch go bad and they act alot like your symptoms. So I would start at the simplest and work backwards.

Also, make sure blades are disengaged and also they are not bound up on the underside of the mower deck. also check the belt and its not in a bind. These thing could be dragging down your motor keeping it from starting. Let me know if I can help further. Have a Great Day! Good Luck!

Battery drained after use

A lot of automotive parts stores will check a battery for free...
find your lowest amp rated (less than 10) and charge it over night.

Have battery load tested.

if good, place ammeter between battery and the rest of the tractor to check and see if load from running engine is draining or alternator isn't working.

or fast way to check an alternator on almost anything, start with battery, the pull off the negative (black) cable, if engine dies nothing is powering the engine but the battery (on an alternator driven electrical system, the battery is only used to start the engine)

Cub Cadet ZTR will not start

Is the blade engagement off? If that is ok, does the solenoid even click when you put the key to start position? If the solenoid doesn't even click check the battery connections and make sure they are good and clean. If the connections are good, are you sure the new battery is fully charged. If the battery sat around for a long time in the store it could need charged. If all that is good and then you don't get the starter solenoid to click when you put the key in start position, then it is either the seat switch, parking brake switch, handle switches, or mower engage switch keeping it from starting. If all that is ok maybe you have a bad starter solenoid. Please rate my answer so I am rewarded points for it.

I HAVE A CUB CADET LT1050 LAWN TRACTOR AND WHEN I TURN THE KEY I GET ONE SINGLE CLICK. THE STARTER DOESN'T ENGAGE

Hi camy wils815...
Sounds like you have a faulty solinoid.
Make sure your battery has a full charge, the by-pass the starter solinoid on the engine.
To do this ground one big wire connection to one of the small wire connectors (with the wires still hooked up) and if it starts, then replace the solinoid...if it does nothing, replace the solinoid.
Please take time to rate me

Can you measure the voltage of the battery? If you are getting low voltage then the battery needs to be charged or replaced, if the voltage is good then you probably have a bad starter. It might be something you can see like shorted windings on the motor.

Sounds like your going to need a new starter. They're not to much you should be able to buy one at your local lawn and garden store, and they're very easy to replace.
