I bought this a couple years ago, no problems at all and the surround was awesome. Recently, it wouldn't power up, then would with no problem. I noticed it powered up more often when not plugged into a surge protector. Now the unit powers up, but the door and tray loader for the dvd changer won't open. There's no DVDs in there, and the door isn't stuck (I was able to open the door without the power to make sure). What could this be?
Your dvd loader sysyem is dirty and needs a little lythem grease on anything that slides.

Hi what you have is a malfunction, and just because the design. look I have a RTD255, I had the same prob that you, what did I do? I desarmed, and underneath the trays, you will find a big pinion, it is the one who moves the tray out and in, it has a screw in the midle a golden one. I removed, then I put the pinion out and I found a wheel moved by an ruber band, thatmoves another pinion this is the pproblem the real one. what I did was to put an screw in order to not let it move up and down. but you must be carefull because no every screw can be located in the midle hole, the idea is to remove a little bit of the black plastic that is in the center an put an screw then yu can assemble your device again and enjoy!! if you need better explications may be an diagram or something like that do not doubt in contact me, because describe the issu is very hard you might not understand what i just wrote. tks any ways
