Question about Smeg SUK92MFX5 Dual Fuel (Electric and Gas) Kitchen Range
I have had a problem with the display just showing a single number - 1 or 4, for a few weeks but everything worked. I turned the power off then on again to reset it and i could then set the clock. The number would return after a few days. Last time i turned the power off and on again the display is off all together and the main oven wont work. Small oven and gas rings work fine. Any suggestions?

problem is almost certainly the circular element. these sometimes fail with obvious damage but not always. check continuity across the element to be sure. you are right about element fixing. there is no reason why the design should'nt allow removal from the front as many do but i suppose the guys who make these things don't have to fix them.

the fan element would have blown. it is not uncommon for an element to trip an rcd when it blows. you are on the right track, if you replace the element all your problems should go away

The fuse is located behind the rear panel of the cooker. Depending what model this is, it may be an electronic card causing the problem?
