Do a "key dance" between normal and heated dry , going bak and forth six times. this will rester the heater fault. That is the clean light flashing code. Now you have to find the cause. Most likely is that there were suds in the last cycle or the door doesn't close smoothly. If the door sttrikes the cabinet in any way it will cause that problem.

Whirlpool Corp. manufactures and sells dishwashersmag-glass_10x10.gif and other home appliances under its own name, as well as under the brands Kenmore, Maytag and KitchenAid. Whirlpool has been in business for more than 100 years. Whirlpool dishwashers carry full warranties for one year, and limited warranties for longer periods on some of the parts.
Not all issues with Whirlpool dishwashers require a service call from a dishwashermag-glass_10x10.gif repairperson. You can solve some of these with the troubleshooting tips given below. Some dishwashing problems, however, cannot be solved yourself, but require a qualified plumber.

Has Your Whirlpool Dishwasher Been Recalled?
  1. In 1996, about 500,000 Whirlpool and Kenmore dishwashers were recalled because the wiring within the door latch could potentially overheat and catch fire. The dishwashers in question were sold between June 1991 and October 1992. Affected Whirlpool brand dishwashers have model numbers beginning with DU8, DP8, DU9 and GDP, such as DU8700XY-1. Affected Kenmore dishwashers have model numbers beginning with 665, such as 665.1665591. In addition to model numbers, both Whirlpool and Kenmore have serial numbers ranging from FA2400000 through FA5299999 or from FB0100000 through FB1899999. If your dishwasher is affected by this recall, do not use it or try to repair it yourself. Contact Whirlpool at 800-874-9481 or Sears at 800-927-1625.
About 162,000 Whirlpool and Kenmore under-the-counter plastic tall tub dishwashers made by Whirlpool and sold between June 2004 and January 2005 were recalled because of an overheating problem in the wash motor. To find out if your dishwasher is affected, call Whirlpool at 866-769-7260. In the meantime, do not use it or try to fix it.
If your dishwasher is not included in the recalls, you might be able to repair it yourself.
  2. Troubleshooting Whirlpool Dishwasher Problems
  3. If the dishwasher does not fill, check to see that the overflow protection float is unobstructed and can move freely. Press down on it to release it.
If your dishes are filmy or spotty after they've been washed or you see that the detergent is not completely dissolved, the water temperature might be too low. First, check to see that the dishwasher is connected to the hot water supply. Although the dishwasher heats water automatically at certain times, it will not heat cold water enough throughout the cycle to work properly. Whirlpool recommends that water be 120 degrees Fahrenheit coming into the dishwasher.
If you're sure the incoming water is hot enough and you're using the correct amount of detergent, but you still have problems with spots on dishes or a dishwasher that won't fill, insufficient water pressure might be to blame. Water pressure must be 20 to 120 per square inch for proper functioning of a dishwasher.
If the dishwasher isn't draining well, you might need a drain air gap. This is an external part that keeps drain water from backing up into the dishwasher. Plumbing codes in some jurisdictions require the installation of a drain air gap.
To avoid dishes getting chipped in the dishwasher, make sure you load the dishwasher in a way that the dishes and glassware stay stable in the rack. Do not put delicate china or anything not known to be dishwasher-safe into the dishwasher.
If you see brown stains on dishes and on the inside of the dishwasher, it is probably because your water is high in iron. The remedy for this is rewashing the dishes, the first time without detergent. Put one to three teaspoons of citric acid crystals into the detergent compartment and run a full wash cycle. Next, run a normal dishwashing cycle with detergent.
  4. Replacing Dishwasher Parts
  5. If the solutions above do not work for you, it is possible that you need to replace one or more dishwasher parts. Whirlpool recommends that you use only factory-specified parts to ensure correct operation and fit. Make note of your model and serial number and call the Whirlpool Customer Interaction Center at 800-253-1301.

Is this dishwasher replacing an old one or a new install? Is the electrical tied in correctly? Is the water hooked up and running? Info, info, info!

Belt, Water Pump Although few dishwashers have a water pump belt, if the dishwasher won't drain there might be a worn or broken water pump belt. After removing the lower kick panel the motor can be seen in the front, the water pump belt is on the bottom of the motor.

Drain Pump If the dishwasher won't drain, the drain pump might be defective. Test the pump motor with an Ohm meter. Drain pumps are not repairable, if it's defective it will need to be replaced.

Drain Impeller The drain impeller is attached to the pump and pushes the water out of the dishwasher, through the drain tube and into the garbage disposer or drain line. If the dishwasher won't drain, the drain impeller might be broken or worn out. Replace both the impeller and seal at the same time.

Drain Solenoid Kit If the dishwasher won't drain, the drain solenoid kit might need to be replaced. The drain solenoid is an actuator that opens a flap to allow the water to drain.
Drain Valve The drain valve can get clogged with debris and should be cleaned out if the dishwasher won't drain. If it seems clear of debris but won't actuate, it will need to be replaced. The drain valve is not repairable Pump and Motor Assembly If the dishwasher won't drain, the pump and motor assembly might be defective. If the motor runs during the drain cycle, check for a blockage in the drain line. If the motor won't run during the drain cycle or if it just hums when it should be running, the pump and motor assembly might need to be replaced.

Clogged or Improperly Installed Garbage Disposer If the dishwasher won't drain and the garbage disposer was installed recently, the installer might have forgotten to knock out the drain plug from this disposer. All garbage disposers are sold with a solid plug in the drain tube for situations where a dishwasher isn't connected. However, if the dishwasher is connected, the plug will need to be removed. If the disposer wasn't replaced recently, remove the dishwasher drain hose from the disposer and clean out both the fitting on the disposer and the end of the drain hose. These are the most common places to find an obstruction if the dishwasher won't drain.

Whirlpool quiet partner 1 won't drain all the way suddenly

Hello.

HERE ARE TOOLS NEEDED AND INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO SOLVE THE DRAINING PROBLEM BELOW.

(A) Clean cloth(s)
(B) Wrench (if necessary)

Whirlpool brand dishwashers come in black, brown, stainless steel or white finishes and a variety of sizes as well. Most Whirlpool dishwashers are energy efficient, and many have features such as a sanitizing rinse, enhanced sound effects, large capacity tubs and adjustable shelves and racks. However, none of these features will help users much if the dishwasher is not draining. While this issue may require professional repair, some troubleshooting steps may help determine if there is a relatively simple cause for the problem.

1 Verify that the Whirlpool dishwasher has not lost power due to a power failure or motor overload. Wait a few minutes to see if the motor automatically resets and resumes operation. Reset the circuit breaker or fuse if necessary.

2 Press or select "Start" to resume the cycle if the dishwasher was stopped mid-cycle. Choose a new drain cycle if necessary to remove excess water from the unit.

3 Turn off the dishwasher and unplug it from power. Examine the connection between the dishwasher and the garbage disposer, usually located underneath the kitchen sink. Make sure the disposer knockout plug was taken out between the two.

4 Run the garbage disposer in the kitchen sink to remove potential blockages.

5 Remove objects that may be blocking the drain on the dishwasher. Clean out the drain hose at the rear of the dishwasher.

Thanks.

Whirlpool gu1200xtls2 wont drain just stopped

Hello

your Whirlpool dishwasher stopped draining mid-cycle, check your circuit breaker or fuses. The cycle won't complete if the power is interrupted. Reset the circuit breaker if tripped, or change out any blown fuses. Fully close the dishwasher door, and restart the cycle if you opened up the door. If you have not used the dishwasher in a while, the motor may be stuck. Open up the main housing, and rotate the motor until it turns freely. You must replace the motor if it's corroded or won't move since it's unlikely that you can fix it.

Pump

The pump is located underneath the lower rack and spray arm. This component is responsible for pumping water out of the dishwasher once the cycle is complete. If the pump isn't working, verify that it is not clogged with debris. Use a toothpick or plastic utensil to remove food particles from it. Check the pump impeller. If a section of it is broken, get a new pump since the impeller is difficult to fix.

Clogs

Clogs in the air gap or drainage hose prevent water from leaving the tub. Clean these components and the water inlet filters, if dirty. Examine the drainage hose, and straighten it if it's kinked. If the hose is badly crushed, you must replace it. Unscrew the drainage hose from the dishwasher to clean it, but reattach it before you restart the cycle. Run the food waste disposer if it's connected to your Whirlpool dishwasher. Remove the knockout plug from the disposer if you have just installed the disposer or dishwasher.

Drain Valve/High Drain Loop

Whirlpool dishwashers have drain valves with an internal solenoid. This valve opens and closes to drain water out of the tub. If the drain valve is stuck, lubricate the lever, and remove any debris clogging the valve. Remove any objects that are preventing the drain valve from freely opening and closing. If the valve is not working properly, you must replace it. Always install a high drain loop to prevent water from the sink entering your dishwasher. Create a loop of the drainage hose that is at least 18 inches high. Attach this hose beneath a section of cabinetry.

New whirlpool dishwasher when in use drips from right side.

Check if the dishwasher is level side to side and front to back. (you can generally tell if the edge of the tub has an even space between it and the cabinet at top and bottom, and the tub is not further in or out on top or bottom in relation to the edge of the cabinet. Also, make sure the door is not hitting the cabinet edge when you close the dishwasher door.
