I recently received a Meade DS 2130 as a gift. I have never used a telescope before, which makes it frustrating. I have read through the manual a thousand times, but still I see nothing. I have manually trained the scope on the moon and still nothing. Quite frankly, I just want to see "something" as all of the write-ups I have read about this scope suggest that I should be able to see Jupiter etc...
Any suggestions would be appreciated!
Thank you,

These scopes have many bugs in the firmware and are not a mature technology. Some people have issues and some do not.
About the only thing you can try is to reload the firmware using the SC CARD method. Contact Meade or read the manual to learn how to upgrade the firmware using an SD flash memory card.
Other than that the scopes will need to be returned to Meade for repair.
ds-2000 refers to the model line of the scope. ds-2130 the 130 refers to the diameter of the objective lens in mm. I have a ds-2114. Where the objective lens is 114 mm in diameter. as far as the manual goes everything else should be the same.
