Check the data cable. Make sure it is fully connected. (Sometimes they come loose). Check all connected data cable's & power cables within the system. Start with the new drive you installed. Unplug the data cable & re-connect. Follow it to the motherboard & do the same. If no cable seemed loose than replace the hard disk drive's cable with a new cable. Standard 80-conductor Ultra DMA IDE/ATA interface cable. See below;

You will need to purchase Motorola Mobile Office Tools to transfer data and pics to/from your Razr. You can send them to your email box but that will incur internet phone charges.
1 you use bluetooth, you need to buy a bluetooth adapter if the computer does not have built in bluetooth, you will send data using a bluetooth wireless connection.
2 you use usb cable connection. You will need an usb cable for your phone, and the software that is in the phone disk. If you do not have the disk you can download software from Motorola website.
It is possible that you have a bad data chord. Recently I have come across several data chords that will not acknowledge the v3 cell phone I was trying to use with my Motorola Tools program. I tried a different data cable and it worked without any problems. If you don't have a 2nd data cable you might ask friends and family if they have one you can borrow so you can verify if it is the data cable or not. If you find that it is the data cable you could then purchase another one.

Very Simple Solution. I have the same phone.
First you need a Data Cable that connects your phone to a USB port on your PC.
Secondly, go to http://idenphones.motorola.com/iden/support/software/html/mp3_software.html
and download the mp3 loader.
Its very easy to use. good luck.
