Question about Fuji FinePix S3100 Digital Camera

Open Question

Fujifilm FinePix A345 won't turn on ordered y tool to open any battery inside?

Have a FujiFilm FinePix 4Mpixel camera that won't power on. Not the batteries or contacts. Ordered the small Y screwdriver to open the case. What should I look for INSIDE? Is there a small watch battery in there that may be dead? I'm good with electronics but don't know where to start. Seems like this is a frequent problem with FujiFilm digital cameras.

Bad news. The A345 will only accept up to a 1gb xd card. Here's a link to Fuji's camera/card compatibility chart. http://www.fujifilm.ca/x7970.xml
Just highlight the address and paste it into your address bar.

An update to the initial posting. As a warranty service provider, I can state that physical damage as a result of mis-use is NOT covered under warranty. Lens problems caused by dropping the camera are considered mis-use and are not covered. There is a good posibility that the lens assembly is just out of timing and can be rebuilt, but the cost to do this will not be paid by the manufacturer.

I don't want you to believe that this repair will be for free as it will not.

Regards,
Dan

Fujifilm xp30 that won't turn on.

Things to check first for a camera that won't turn on are battery contact points, and micro switches that are located on the battery and memory card doors. Troubleshooting tips on other things that need to be checked may be seen here. These tips won't work for every case, but they're worth a try.

FujiFilm fine Pix A 345. Lend won't open upon turning on camera. Camera makes a buzz noise and then the display reads zoom error.

Those things get stuck.

You have to mess with it until it comes unstuck, if it even does.

Try hitting it while you are turning it on. Tap it from all sides and directions.

You might get lucky.

I got mine to come back to life temporarily.

Please don't give me a thumbs down just cause its bad news.

Fujifilm a345

Remove batteries and clean the contacts in the bottom of the battery compartment with a pencil eraser and polish the compartment lid contacts. Gently polish with a tissue the card contacts. Then see what happens. If the same fault persists squeeze the battery cover. If it then stays on, open the cover ,take a small piece of foil to cover the batteries to pack it out a little.
