I have Bose Wave Radio/CD (flip top) bought in the UK worked great there as an alarm clock, am now living in Muscat, Oman where I think the Hz might be different and the clock seems to gain about 40sec per day. I get in the office too early!! The rating on the product at the back however says 50/60hz. I am confused as to why this should be happening.I have Bose Wave Radio/CD (flip top) bought in the UK worked great there as an alarm clock, am now living in Muscat, Oman where I think the Hz might be different and the clock seems to gain about 40sec per day. To set AM/PM (12 hour) or Military (24 hour) time - With the system off, hold
down Alarm Setup and press On/Off to switch between AM/PM (12 hour) and you're done .
hmmm it seems the output chip isnt getting stable voltage to keep itself running so it keeps turning itself off and trying to protect itself from damage when the voltage keeps dropping
please my name is dele i have this BOSE radio/cd system model number is AWRC2G which transformer burnt out rightly, that the input is 240volts which output is the problem and in nigria. please i just want to know the output on each coloured wire of the secondary that has 8 wires output from the secondary (2 purple - brn = volt, 2 blue = volts, and 2 black - gray = volts. so that similar that i can use to work it. thank you
Bose will not release their schematics or parts lists, effectively giving them a monopoly on repair of these sets. There is, however, a line fuse on a circuit board inside the radio. CAUTION:
disconnect the set from its power source before you open it up or start
poking around inside it. If you're lucky, all you will need is a
simple fuse replacement. The sets are, however, notorious for
"blowing" power transformers. If the fuse is not the problem, you
will likely need to send the set to Bose for repair. On their web
site, www.bose.com, they offer to repair most Wave sets for $100 or
give $200 credit towards the purchase of a new Wave. Before you spend
the big bucks though, you might want to check out the new HD radios.
Better sound and MUCH lower prices than the Bose.
