GREY SPOTS ON BACK OF SCREEN NOTICEABLE WITH WHITE

Hi if your tv is a dlp it might be an issue with the DMD board Hi,Yes your problem sounds like the DMD board. This is how it works: http://electronics.howstuffworks.com/dlp1.htm Basically the light of the lamp goes through a tunnel that carries a color wheel(rotating disc with a gamma of colors that creates the colors on your tv)then the light of the lamp goes through the DMD board which is a chip composed of around 2 million pixels that creates the images and colors. When it starts to fail it will create black bars, pixelation, color distortion or white dots on screens. Here's a video that will help you find where the DMd chip is located : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0jr_9A5Xd2Q Have a blessed one!

Lamp light on front of tv stays on, it is amber in color

Hi,do you mean tv is showing an amber picture? If you do,it could be an issue with the color wheel or dmd board. The color wheel is a rotating disc that has a gamma of colors it spins at high rpms. The light of the lamp goes through it to create the colors on your tv.When it starts to go bad you will get color distortion ,black and white picture and sometimes you will hear humming noises. This is how the DMD works: http://electronics.howstuffworks.com/dlp1.htm Basically the light of the lamp goes through a tunnel that carries a color wheel(rotating disc with a gamma of colors that creates the colors on your tv)then the light of the lamp goes through the DMD board which is a chip composed of around 2 million pixels that creates the images and colors. When it starts to fail it will create black bars, pixelation, color distortion or white dots on screens. Dot all over tv samsung hls4266wx/xaa

You need to replace the dmd board. In some cases it is more cost effective to replace the entire optical engine which includes the dmd board, lamp, ballast and color wheel for about the same amount of money and is easier to install.

I have black spots on my samsung dlp tv

I had the same problem with my Samsung DLP tv a couple of weeks ago. I had to clean the lenses, mirrors and the DMD sensor to fix it, you must remove the rear cover to do this. If the mirrors and lenses were cleaned but the spots were still there, the final thing to do is to clean the sensor chip on the DMD board. It is located under the heat sink behind the small fan in the lower center of the rear of the TV. The DMD board will have to be removed to get to the back of the sensor. All you have to do is blow some dry canned air across it to remove the dust, do not wipe it with anything. The repair is somewhat complicated and you will probably have to realign the picture by adjusting the position of the DMD board when finished.
