What's your problem?my laptop is aspire 5542 ,i got problem with my keyboard it's some keys work and some does not work this time i am using onscreen keyboard please help me,yesterday it work

restart yr system in save mode if it boots then i think the keyboard is still good but something beneathg is stoping it from functioning well. other wise i suggest yu replace the keyboard

Im afraid to suggest this but if his/her hands were wet which I suspect might be it the keyboard might be killed by the water but only selective keys are working.

Since this is a Compaq do you have HP's ADP plan for it?
If you do they will fix that for free. Mind you it will take 2 weeks.

And I know this is more of a comment than a solution but is probably what happened.

no it will not happen ........but i think once u check it with ur dealer.if it is a brand new u will have warranty....so check it......if there is some problem after checking i can help u....u r requested to cantact me after the check........because this is the ist time i am hearing about this problem

Hey guys, I just had this problem, I have alot of problems with my DV7 laptop, top panel started malfunctioning, then it thought i was turning the volume up and down by myself, also my g h ' and backspace stopped working along with other problems that I don't want to bore you guys with, whats the answer? Remove the battery for 10-15 seconds and clean the connectors and this has ALWAYS fixed all my problems. Hope this helps.

There is no such thing! If the bios is locked it is because a PW was written to it They come without passwording being set. The only way to remove it is the open the RAM cover and find the two pins and short them out then close the cover and reboot.
