Question about Kohler Plumbing
I rounded out the cold valve seat trying to get it out. Should I just drill and re tap the hole in the valve housing? I was told by a friend to just grind the face flat, which I don't think was right, If I tap new threads and teflon tape the new seat thread will it fix this $5 problem that got bad quick?

You can cut a new seat first which is good in most cases . I would not do what you are saying you are going to make your self problems . Reseat if it don't work get a new tap.

I'm Harvey the Master Plumber.
Your problem is: You have replaced a leaking Rohl cartridge in your kitchen faucet, but when you
replace the nut holding down the cartridge, the threads of the nut do not
engage. You have tried to push hard down on the cartridge while you turn the nut,
but to no avail.
Assuming you have the correct cartridge, I find it helpfull to take pictures with my cell (easily deleted later) as I disassemble to make sure I'm getting the new one in exactly right because there are only two reasons why the new cartridge won't go all the way in. 1 It's the wrong cartridge or
2 something's not right. Take the new one out and check that everything is correct, it's easy to make a small mistake. That's it.

Some seats ae rremovable and some or not Some take a hex(allen) wrench and some take a square (seat removal tool) Most of us use a seat grinder. (another tool to dress up the seat (Remove material) past the seat damage. You will find any of these tools at any hardware store that sells plumbing parts. If the seats have a square or hex hole remove and replace rather that grind(dress)the seat. All right hand threads meaning turn counter clock wise to remove. Take old seat to the American Standard plmbing supply outlet and then will match it up. Good fix-in to ya.

Most Price Phister valve cartridges have a plastic washer or "O" ring at the base of the cartridge, where it screws into the valve body. Replacements should be available at H/Depot, Lowe's/similar.

You will need to buy the o-rings to fix it. You can buy at most hardware stores if you know how to turn off the water you can fix this with more instructions. Let me know if you need more help.
