NETGEAR 20

You need to ask Lenovo support why it does this, as it is not normal.

Are you sure it is not asking for the password number?

This you need to get from the router as it depends on the protocol used. If it is your router you should already have the password.

Try resetting and then reconfigure the router.

http://192.168.0.1

The default PW = passwordYou can now change the default admin password and configurethe wireless settings.

I am trying to connect another computer to my wireless network but i do not know my netgear code, where do i find this?

Netgear code? Can you be more specific?

Are you referring to the password required to connect to your wireless network called "Netgear"? I assume you're being asked for a password on the 2nd computer when trying to connect to the wireless network called "Netgear".

  1. In a web browser, enter the router's IP address - either http://192.168.0.1 or http://192.168.1.1 by default.
  2. When prompted for a Username and Password, enter the default username and password (admin; password) unless you have already changed it. NETGEAR recommends changing the default password to increase the security of your network.
  3. Select Wireless Settings from the Setup menu in the left-hand navigation bar.
  4. Under Wireless Network, enter your desired network name in the Name (SSID) box. This is currently set to "Netgear" most likely.
  5. Under Security Options, select WPA-PSK [TKIP] + WPA2-PSK [AES].
  6. Under Security Options (WPA-PSK + WPA2-PSK), enter your desired network password into the Passphrase box.
    • WRITE DOWN or KEEP NOTE of your network name, security option and passphrase - you will require them to connect wireless computers and devices to your network.
  7. Click Apply to save the settings.
Once you've set this password, you can use it to connect to "Netgear" on your second computer.

Problems with my netgear wireless n- router model WNR834Bv2

Has your router been reset/rebooted recently? It sounds like it's been set to send wireless. Or it's possible you didn't secure it with encryption or a password on the route and someone got into it and changed the settings. Try rebooting it first (unplug power cable for about 5 minutes, plug back in) if that doesn't work, try loggin into the router with it's IP address and check the wireless settings. If that doesn't work, there should be a pinhole on it somewhere for the reset button, us a paper clip to press it for 5 to 10 seconds and this will reset the router to factory settings.

Have you tried the default password listed in the manual? Do you have a manual? Have you been to Netgear's website and looked for a manual?

No Power to my Netgear Rangemax Next Wireless N-Router WNR834Bv2

This happens from time to time with these routers. It happenned to me with a Linksys and I found that the power unit in the router failed. One thing you could do is try a couple of different wall sockets or see if another adapter might work. Is your Netgear new enough to get replaced by the store?
