FA is the emergency shutoff switch that detects when water is pooling underneath the machine (a leak) You may have to remove the back of the machine to check the float switch underneath. Empty any water from the catch tray and check for leaks.

FA is a problem with the tubidity sensor. By holding down the power button, it stops, but just repeats everytime you try a new wash cycle. So keep doing it and you can atleast use it. If you want to go one step further and find a permanent solution try feeling around in the sump (where the filter slots in) being
careful for any broken glass. Other than that it will probably be a
strip-down job to examine the internal hoses and the pump; not a DIY
job to be honest.

Although the Whirlpool dishwasher F4 error code is "not draining" it is actually a .... switch situated? my Whirlpool showsE1 and F8 error codes.
Hi, I've had the same problem with the Tomy WalkAbout Platinum - and, indeed, no help to be found on any website.
Eventually traced the problem to the temperature reset button on the child unit (the blue button to the side). This button was lodged solid in the device; on inspection because of the wire of the temperature sensor.
I've opened up the child unit (remove the four small screws with a watchmakers screwdriver) and removed the entire temp. reset button.
The set up works as normal (but with a bit of gap). With a bit more time, you might be able to fix the temperature sensor wire and get the temperature reset to work again.
Thank you for your response. I finally managed to contact someone at Whirlpool who advised that the error code FA indicates a component problem and may require a replacement part. Unfortunately a serviceman is required.
We have just experienced an FA audible error on our Diplomat ADP 8332 dishwasher...after pulling the dishwasher out and removing the low front panel we found the drip tray full of water. We tipped the dishwasher onto it's front and removed the drip tray and found a float pressure switch...it appears that once the drip tray is full the float switch activates and causes the FA fault (prevents the dishwasher from continuing) drain off your drip tray replace all covers and you should be good to go!!
