The reason it does this is the print solenoid is gummed up. The print solenoid is located within the carrier. It would need to be removed and cleaned with alcohol to free it up.

Start pressing the number keys. The first press you will get a number (eg 2) Now press the Auto Ans button :-) You will get AaBbCc for each time you press it.

Yep, a trick to everything. QqZz!? is under the 1 and other punctuation (period,comma,colon, etc) is under the 0 and there are other symbols under the * and # key.

The impact solenoid has a rubber cap that has worn down. Replacing the cap and adjusting the impact mechanism will get you back in operating order !
