Please let me know if i am doing this the right way. When I open the convergence window, there are many crosses. some of them are white, some of them single cross some of them double crosses. Am I suppost to converge the double crosses in to one? If this method is not working, what can I do?
First thing to do is go to http://www.servicemanuals.net and get the service manual, as if you dont adjust these things in the proper order, it will never alighn or it will take you hours on end, because most of the time, when you move one thing, it affects the other alighnment, so if you do it off the cuff your having to do one, go back touch up another and may need to redo the same alighnment a hunderd times!~! See my point? Now if one section is not responding to the ajustment, or all of a suddenly the adjustments went out, and you try to adjust them, STOP! The alighnments may drift a little over the sets lifetime, but never will they go out drastacly, unless the convergence IC's go bad. They are the black rectangle IC's that start with STK and are mounted onto stand up metal heat sinks. If your not a tech or know the safty issues with a TV set, please call out a trained service person to assist you with this repair.
