OK. First, pull the agitator straight up and out of the washer. Sometimes you have to use a belt or similar item slipped under the agitator and attached to a broom handle to pull on. Second, remove the bolt holding the up side down looking plastic can shaped agitator drive and pull it off. Again, sometimes this does not come off easily, but in this case you would have to break the plastic to remove it. Third, try to turn the metal splined shaft with your fingers. If it turns, that's bad, meaning you need a whole new transmission. (a rather difficult and expensive repair if the machine is out of warranty) but if it does not turn by hand (most likely) all you have to do is replace the agitator drive part (WH49X10042) which is cheap and easy to install.

Hello, your problem is going to be with the lids switch, in this machine it is going to be a magnetic contact. You can confirm this my pulling the front panel off and accessing the wireing to the lids switch, If you have electrical knowledge bypass the lid switch using a wire nut and run the machine. If all is ok make sure you relpace the lid switch since it is there for a reason. If you have any other questions or concerns please feel free to comment again. Good Luck!!!
