You were attempting to perform a power scan initially. The second procedure is manually attempting to address the remote to your TV. I will give you the procedures again so you can try one more time. Emerson TV is one brand we have a low percentage of success getting our remotes to work. If it still doesn't work, we could try replacing the remote.
TV code: 623, 667, 666, 233, 516, 537, 544, 642, 655, 699, 000, 999, 888, and 720.
Remotes: Basic (Television Only)
- Turn the Television On.
- Press and hold the clear TV button for six seconds until the LED flashes.
- Enter the three-digit code using the buttons on the number pad.
- Press #.
Note: The LED will flash three times.
- Test functionality with the TV.
- Return to Step 2 if the remote is not able to turn the TV On/Off, change the
volume and mute the television.
Remote Power Scan: Basic Remote (Television Only)
- Turn the Television On.
- Press and hold the clear TV button for six seconds until the LED flashes.
- Press and release the red TV Power button.
- Press and release the Up or Down Arrow on the remote until the television
turns off once every second.
- After the television turns off, press and release the # button.
- Test functionality with the TV.
- Return to Step 2 if the remote is not able to turn the TV On/Off, change the
volume and mute the television.
Well we tried what you said and it's still doing the same thing. I did notice that the small blue light on the tv by the power button fades in and out(as if in some kind of sleep mode) when the tv is powered on.
