What type of connection are you using and what is the laptop model?

  • Anonymous Mar 02, 2012

    hdmi cable and a hp G 60

  • Anonymous Mar 02, 2012

I tried all the inputs, this is the one that said "input signal out of range when I unplugged one of the two cables used to connect the hdmi?

  • Anonymous Mar 02, 2012

I used an hdmi and a vga. Is that wrong?

  • Anonymous Mar 02, 2012

You should only need to use the HDMI cable (as long as both devices have an appropriate port. If they don't, you will need a different way to connect)

  • Anonymous Mar 02, 2012

Did you laptop or the computer say input signal out of range?

  • Anonymous Mar 02, 2012

ok, now I'm using just the HDMI, and it says "Input signal Out of range?" -Thanks so much for taking the time to help me :)

  • Anonymous Mar 02, 2012

sorry. The tv said that. and now the screen doesnt go black on either devices. just gives that error message on tv.

  • Anonymous Mar 02, 2012

You need to change the resolution on the laptop before you connect them (most likely lower it).

  • Anonymous Mar 02, 2012

perfect. how do i do that?

  • Anonymous Mar 02, 2012

Right click on your laptops desktop and select 'Screen Resolution'. From the dropdown to the right of 'Resolution' choose the smallest. Once you do this try plugging it in. If it works you can then try increasing the resolution.

I a feeling that your computers screen is blank because it is displaying to the TV and the TV is blank because it is on the wrong input. Your TV/remote should have an input or source button which you can use to select the appropriate input.

Why is my Tv flash black and white and the quality goes bad while using my ps3 while its hooked up to my Capture device?

That is usually caused from the capture device putting out a cross channel that you set is picking up. If the device has a modulator and plays through a CHANNEL as opposed to a connection, check the channel to be sure that it is the right one.

Screen goes black and resets during HD shows

Have you already tried to power cycle all the devices? Unplug the power cable on all your devices for about 1 hour then plug it back in. Check if that fixes it.

Connecting pc to tv - tv shows pc screen then goes black

Try running through all the different resolution settings on your laptop, some tv's are very specific about which resolutions will display and which won't.

Hi I have a problem of black screen with my hp pavilion dv400. Wheen I start my computer I can windows logo on the screen but just 1 or 2 second and the screen go black. But when I connect my computer...

Your laptop is probably outputting the video signal to the wrong monitor. When the screen goes black, try pressing the function key to switch the video back to the laptop screen. Refer to your laptop's manual on what key to press. Usually it is the Fn key and F4 at the same time for HP laptops.

When i connect my notebook to LCD TV with hdmi port, screen goes black but on TV "No signal" message appear and can`t view the monitor on TV. I have windows XP sp3 on the netbook HP 425

From page 47 of the user manual for the HP 425, "Press fn+f4 to switch the image between the display devices connected to the computer."

Press and hold the "fn" key on the keyboard of the laptop while pressing the F4 key to toggle the image between the laptop screen and the external monitor.

HDTV goes blank when connected to Fios HD-DVR or Fios DTV recvr.

If you can first connect the Fios box via component and that will rectify the issue and still allow HD. HDMI is funny, if there is anykind of communication issues between the TV or the Fios box you see what happens. You might also call Samsung to see if there is ANY firmware/software updated for your TV specifically to fix such an issue with the Fios/Mortorola connection. If there isn't then the issue is the cable box since the TV works ok on HDMI with other devices.

Dvd won't load

I too have a SpectronIQ PD 300-HD that came bundled with my 32" LCD tv (PLTV-3250) and have had the exact same problem. The only thing that worked for me was to totally unhook the DVD player from the tv (HDMI cables and everything) and unplug it from the power source for a minimum of 30 minutes to try to reset it to the factory defaults. The last time I tried this, however, it didn't work. I'm now having a problem with my TV as well - I just got my HD DVR from Dish Network and my picture keeps going from black screen to the blue "just turned on" screen, with the power light going from green to red. Then, suddenly the picture comes back, but sometimes the picture is "tiled", like the tiles news broadcasts use to hide someone's identity. I even have a Dish Network tech at my house RIGHT NOW who is having all kinds of problems figuring out what the problem is, but he thinks it's - GASP - the TV! Of course, since SpectronIQ went bankrupt and Shop NBC (the retailer the set was purchased from, as a GIFT, no less) has been absolutely USELESS, I have no idea what to do and am absolutely LOATH to purchase a new LCD tv. Does anyone know what can be done?

LG 47" LCD FLAT SCREEN

IF IT WASNT DIGITAL HD I WOULD HAVE SUSPECTED HIGH VOLTAGE POWER SUPPLY BUT THAT DOES NOT EXIST HERE.
Well, not completely true; the fluorescent backlight is still a high voltage device, even if only hundreds of volts instead of kilovolts, and either the lamp(s) or the power supply for it (them) is causing the dropout of your picture. When it does it next time, look at the screen from various angles, I think you will see that video content is still there.
