you can swap the hot and cold valves over and see if this fixes the problem as it sound like your cold valve is faulty but not the hot valve.

SOURCE: GWL11 stops mid cycle several times with hot water light on

There is a sensor on this machine that I have seen cause this on this machine. Open the lid and remove by pulling straight up. Next remove the control panel by removing the two phillips head screws and tilt the face forward and lift up. there is a sensor pluged inbetween the cold and hot water valves. This sensor is contacted by a ground connector that is some what like a spring connection around the sensor connected by a green wire with a yellow tracer. Make certain this sensor is tight to the ground connection and clean if all of this correct replace temperature sensor.

SOURCE: Model GWL11. The washer

Hi just read your posting. Now can you check the inlet hoses are correctly positioned. So from the cold water tap the hose must go to the cold valve which has the letter C next to it and the hot has the letter H next to it.If you look behind the machine where the inlet hoses connect the identifying letters will be there. Please reply on how you got on and for further help.Looking forward to your reply.

I just replaced the cold water fill valve in my GWL11 and turned on the machine. All worked GREAT except the hot was cold and vice versa. Ooops, I had the hoses connected backwards, so I powered off t

a hose swap will not kill the board. But unplugging the unit with the machine turned on might kill the board... moving the power plug, or circuit breaker with the board 'alive' /turned on.. can cause damage.

Water starts and stops, over and over again when filling. After some time, we get trouble beeps and 2 yellow lights, 1 near either end of progress indicator. Machine is a GWL11

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,

If you have checked that the hot and cold water taps are turned on fully and the hoses are not kinked or squashed at the back, it is worth while checking both the hot and cold water inlet filters. Turn the taps off and remove both hoses at the washer end. Inside each inlet port there is normally a little filter which should just slide out. Clean if necessary and replace each one and the hoses. If after turning the taps back on there is no improvement, the problem is symptomatic of a malfunctioning hot or cold water control valve. Sorry but it needs a service call and a check that it isn't the control PCB ;-0(

If this has assisted you please consider a 4 thumbs up for the rating.
Thanks and good luck,
John C

Water drips into the machine washing bowl when the machine is turned off. Is there a valve or washer that needs changig?

You have a bad water valve. There are two valves, one for the hot and one for the cold. You can turn off the supply water one at a time to see if it's the hot or cold. Here is a link to the cold water valve Here is a link to the hot water valve

When going to wash with my GW11 it stops during the was cycle and the cold and hot water light blink and the machine beeps

Hi just read your posting. Now, when the hot and cold lights flash at the same time it means that you are not getting enough or no hot or cold water.Remove the cold and hot inlet hoses from the machine end and put the ends into a bucket. Now turn the taps on to see if you have water coming out the hot and cold hose and if the water pressure is adequate.Try a cold fill on the wash cycle and see how it goes.please reply and let me know if there is water coming out of the hoses at a good pressure and also what water temp do you select on the wash cycle.Looking forward to your reply.

Screeching noise after water starts going in

Hi just read your posting. Now put the machine to a spin cycle and push start,Does the noise happen in this cycle? If the noise doesn't happen then try a cold water fill but turn the hot tap off first. If the noise still doesn't happen then try a hot water fill but turn the cold water off first. This noise sounds like one of your water valves is faulty. Please reply with additional information on the questions and I am sure we can rectify this fault.

Will not advance automatically through cycles. Ha...

I would have thought it was the board too! does it beep when it stops? if it does then it should be putting up a fault code.top row of lights..CHeck that you have both the hot & cold hoses connected & turned on at the taps.even if you are not useing hot water to wash with, turn them both on anyway. Some machines require this regardless of wether you are useing hot.The reason for this is F&P have built into their machines to give a little squirt of hot water to maintain a certain level of cold wash.Make sure also that hot hose is going to hot valve & cold to cold.

Washer only fills with hot water

Probably a bad water inlet valve. To verify, you would have to check continuity at the valve.
