I have the same unit i put it in my jeep wrangler had problems as far as which 2 hot wires need to be hooked up. finnally figured it out. take it out hook up the hot wire and ground straight to the battery, it should come on if it does come on then you have a problem in the wiring from the dash, to make sure the wiring in the dash is good you should check your fuses first, then do a continuity test with a volt meter to check for a break in the wire wether it being ground or hot. weed out the simple problems first. if your head unit does not come on from direct hook up to the battery then the problem exist in your head unit

If you going to install it, I recommend getting a wiring harness for the vehicle you are putting it in. The harness package will have the color code on it. All aftermarket radios have standardized wire color coding.
Those cables are for audio out only you need an IP Bus adapter to connect the AUX input. the CDRB20 or CDRB10 is what you need. the CDRB20 allows for more inputs as well such as CD changers, and XM radio tuners.

No diagram available for 10yr old head...sorry:o( Other than that, it should be easy to hook it up, I'm sure there's no sub-outs etc. Should have 4 sets of speaker wires bundled together coming out of the back of the radio chassis. Yellow, is switched power...all the speaker wires have a stripe on one of each of the two wires, thats the "common" wire. White is ground for the chassis. Good Luck
A Pioneer DEH-P2500 power wiring would include: * Black - chassis/body ground (GND) * Yellow - always on B+12 such as the + terminal of the battery; * Red - switched on B+12 such as the ACC terminal of the IGN switch.
Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.
