There is no oder unless the blowers are turned on after a shower or bathing. The manufacture manual advises not to use bleach on this tub when cleaning.
First of all, after each use, refill the tub with warm water and run the jets for about 10 minutes to clear out any excess debris etc.
To eliminate the smell/mildew/mold. :
-Fill the tub to above the jet level with HOT (over 140deg.) water
-Add two tablespoons of low sudsing dishwasher detergent and five cups of distilled white vinegar
-Run the jets for 20 minutes
-Drain the tub and use a tooth brush or any small brush to gently clean inside and around all of the jets and nozzles, remove all foreign material you can from the areas inside (disassemble the outter rings to do so) and around the outlets. Be as thorough as possible.
-Rinse and refill the tub with CLEAN COLD water and run the jets for another 20 minutes.
-Drain the water and the smell and mildew should be eliminated.
To prevent future mildew build up/odors once a month fill the tub with HOT water (again) and four to five cups of vinegar (no detergent) and run the jets for 20 minutes. Drain and fill with clean cold water running jets another 20 minutes. If the tub is used very often you can increase the scheduled flushing of the system to every two to three weeks. The mildew/mold flourishes in the warm wet areas inside the jet tubing and nozzles. Diligent maitenance is the best way to make sure you're not bathing with any unwanted guests in your bathwater!
-Take care
Thank you Stacy. I used your advise and it worked beautifully!!!!!!! My tub now smells nice and fresh!!!! Thank you, Thank you, Thank you.
My pleasure! I'm so glad I could help (: . My sister has a regular step-in jacuzzi tub. Faced the same issue a while back. It took some digging to get to a solid solution - everywhere you look people insist that using bleach is the only answer, and with hot water at that! Few people seem to realize that using bleach with hot water will render the bleach ineffective. The chlorine in the bleach is released if the water is hot enough pretty much making it useless. Warm or cold water is best when using chlorine bleach (that is not being put in your tub hahaha!)
Anyway, just thought I'd throw that in there.
I'm thrilled I was able to help, have a wonderful time in your tub

SOURCE: MILDEW ODER THAT WILL NOT LEAVE?
Fear not there is new product on the market designed just for your very need. www.affresh.com . but lets go over a few steps first. It actually for the most part ,not mold/mildew although it seems that way. First and foremost you MUST MUST use an HE detergent. not just less of regular detergent but actual HE detergent (and only 2-3 tablespoons of that even) Cut back on the amount of fabric softener that your using (if any) and leaving the door ajar between wash cycles improves air flow through the tub assy. Finding that its actually been a build up of extra detergent not breaking down completely giving of the odors. this product will help!!!!
SOURCE: water comes up into our tub when washer drains
The washer puts out a lot of water when spinning/ draining, sounds like the house drains are not of sufficient size or possibly blocked causing water to backup into your tub, check house drains for blockage or install seperate drain for washer into main drain that your tub goes into.
SOURCE: Mildew Smell
I have no idea if this will actually work, I have never tried it myself, but a guy I worked with on washing machines years ago used to swear by putting 3 DISHWASHER tablets in the drum and then running the hottest cycle that the machine would run (White cottons 90 degrees if you have it).
Any of you have a dishwasher and want to try throwing 3 tablets into the washing machine and reporting back on the result?
SOURCE: sewer gas smell from tub.
Something was flushed that should not have been flushed
You will have to have your drain snaked out.
