Also this happen to me, the lens is getting stuck at the point, what you need to do is move the lens mount without touching the lens back and forward about 50 times. or you can apply a small amount of oil on the track. and when i say small i mean very small

If the problem is a problem that develop after you buy the set your lens needs to be adjust or buy a dvd lens cleaner and clean the lens of your dvd.if that does not work change the flat strip that leads from the lens body it might be broken.

You may need to buy Panasonic brand DVDs. I have this machine and had the same problem. Then I bought Panasonic DVDs and it works okay. Frustrating. This is a known issue with this model.

Try cleaning thelens inside the unit.use a clean cotton ball to wipe the surface of the lens.DONOT USE ANY LIQUID!! extra care..

Hello!
I did have a similar problem. It was solved by cleaning the laser lenses/prisma. You have to dismantle the whole pick-up the to see the laser lenses.
There is one lens which is held by couple wires and below there is prisma/mirror.
I did use ear-cleaner-stick and desinfection liquid (with alcohol) for cleaning. Now it works!

I have the same problem and have tried a cleaning disc. I get audio from the cleaning disc but still getting "No Disc" when I try to play.
I have the same problem with this product. It always says "no disc" even though there is one. (I also returned the first one I bought due to the same problem....so it sounds like it is a problem with the construction of the product.) This time it didn't start doing this until I'd had it for awhile. How can you clean the lens? I don't see it anywhere that is accessible.
mine makes a noise like it's trying to read the dvd but it can't. i have tried to clean it and i have unplugged it to let it reset, but nothing. it just up and quit working one day. please help.

i'm working on a similar problem right now. i was copying a game from the dvr hard drive to a dvd monday night. the disc was dirty and the copy failed. since then the damn machine is not reading DVDs at all. i receive error code U88 at times.
