Horizontal I accidentally hit the auto button on the front of my monitor. The resolution was set at 1080x 1224 (or something like that) and it produced a black horizontal bar about 3 inches wide. I tried setting the horizontal, but it wouldn't put it back where it was so I had to go with a lower resolution. Can you help me reset the resolution??

I accidentally hit the auto-adjustment button on my monitor. Now, the an inch of of my screen from left to right is black. Not even my mouse can go into the black space.

Did you try hitting the Auto adjust again to possibly shut it off. Quite often the buttons work as off and on buttons such as the Caps Lock. you hit it and it's on. You hit it again. It's off. If you hit the Auto adjust it might shut off and re-adjust your screen to the original setting you had. ....don't forget that you made other adjustments to compensate for the mal adjustment that will need to be fixxed. good luck.

LG Flatron L1919S stuck in 1024x768 resolution, when it was set in 1280x1024. NOTE : the screen is in use with a Unix workstation, not a Windows PC. When I switched the monitor off, I accidently pressed...

That auto configure button is for the monitor to adjust it self to correctly display the correct resolution as FED BY THE VIDEO card, the resolution on the monitor is CONTROLLED BY THE computer, not by the monitor.
If the resolution setting on the computer is not showing the 1280 x1024, then either the driver for the video card is corrupted or need to be reloaded.
Native resolution of this monitor is 1280 x1024 @60Hz.

In our monitor the above half screen is working properly, but the below half reflects the above half screen after 2 second. what is the problem and how to solve this??????????

First set the auto into the monitor settings ..bypressing the auto setting button ...
After that go to resolution settings by double click the image driver icon in the task bar (tray system ) ..and set a suitable resolution ..
try them one by one until the screen is looking normal ..
The same thing can be changed from the desktop properties...settings do so ..right click on desktop ...choose properties..than settings ...and in there you will have resolution setting ...change them until the one that fits the best ...when you hit the right one confirm the change..and this is all..

1 use the install disk that came with the monitor.
If this does not work then you may have an issue with the electronics.
2. take unit to a certified technician to check the circuitry.
3. this could be a inverter gone bad.

Viewsonic VX2235wm Horizontal Image Problem

Tricky one. Have you tried using different dispay resolutions from your Windows Display Control Panel?
ie 1200x1014, 1600x1400, etc.

When you say you used the manual adjust, do you mean the horizontal sync option?

Did you perform a Settings Recall?

And most monitors have a way of entering into an engineering "Factory Service Menu". Usually by depressing specific buttons while the monitor is OFF, and then pressing the power button while still holding the others. Then let all button go at once. From there, hit the normal button that you use for getting into the OSD. In the OSD, there's usually a new field with all kinds of cool new settings to play with. One of them being a soft reset. You'll have to search the net for how to enter into your Factory service menu.

Oh wait! I know!
If your picture has moved to the right, move yourself accordingly.
So that now you and your picture will be aligned properly.

He he he...
That one was from ViewSonic customer support.

Acer x191w monitor background is moved to the right with about 2inches of black on left side.

Here is the fix;

1. Go to Screen Resolution
2. Select Acer Monitor
2. Find Advanced Settings and click
3. Find Screen Refresh Rate and change it to 75Hz
4. After the monitor flicks, changes it BACK TO 60Hz.

This fixed the problem for me. Hope it helps. :)

How to use buttons on front of Monitor for vertical Horizontal settings

Oldie, The first thing to do is set the monitor resolution, color depth and monitor refresh rate to what you want then adjust the monitor accordingly. Adjust resolution, color depth and refresh rate for Windows 2000/XP: -Right click any clear spot on your desktop and select properties from the menu that appears. -From the Display Properties box that appears click on the Settings tab. -In the screen resolution section (lower left corner) experiment with the resolutions and see what you like. -The color quality box should be set to the highest (most colors) color setting listed. -Click on the advanced button in the lower right corner. -In the next window click on the monitor tab. -Typically you would want to set it at 70 Hertz or better. The higher the setting the less flicker you will notice, however, there is always a trade off. I would start with 70 Hertz and gradually move up; at some point your monitor will reach a setting it can?t support. If the screen blanks out Windows will reset back to the previous settings as long as you don?t hit any keys. -click the OK button twice. More to follow?.
