The washer will not spin. All the lights are flashing and the indicator has an "LD" showing. The washer is 4.5 cu ft, 2006.

LD does mean long drain so the best thing to check is the drain pump itself and the connections to the drain pump. Remove all the water out manually (as much as possible) then tip the machine backwards so you can get underneath of it. Near the back is the drain pump and it's connected to the drain hose itself. Disconnect the drain hose as well as the hose coming from the tub and see if anything is jamming the drain pump motor or hoses. If everything checks clear and good, replace the drain pump motor, otherwise just clear out the blockage.

HI,

Unplug your washer and open up behind, you will see a thin tube coming down from the control panel (pressure switch to be precise) to the waste area below. Disconnect this carefully from the top, blow into it, air should pass through it should not be clogged; refit carefully. Before refitting, fit a similar tube to the pressure switch & blow - you should hear a click; if not there should be a problem with your pressure switch. Anyway refit your old tube & try the machine.

Ld signal won't drain

For the LD error please check for the following:

  • Check for kinked or clogged Drain Hose: Remove any obstructions in the drain hose / stand pipe / utility sink. Straighten the hose to remove any kinks. If the washer is unable to drain due to a kinked or restricted drain hose, the washer may not spin.
  • Check for Standpipe higher than 8 feet above the floor:The pump is not powerful enough to pump water to heights greater than 8ft. The water will remain in the basket.
  • Check for excessive suds in the washer: Drain pumps cannot drain suds out of the washer.
To clear the suds condition: Check the drain hose and make sure the hose is not plugged or kinked Press pause/cancel twice to clear the display Run the machine through a Rinse/Spin cycle using cold water, then a Normal cycle using cold water.

Note: Do NOT add any additional detergent. This will remove much of the remaining detergent held in the fabric. This step may have to be repeated to remove all the detergent.

Kenmore Elist Oasis Washer will not proceed to rise, drain spin mode we receive an LD error. We have inspected the drain and pump still receive error. We have unplugged washer to allow it to "reboot" still...

I recommend checking the drain hose that connects to the house sewer system. Stuff tends to get stuck in the hose (lint, coins, etc.). Also, you should check the sump are if you haven't

Won't fillCalypso whirlpool washer model#GVW9959KQ1 LD on display

LD is long drain error, the machine does not fill because it is in fault mode, but error is on drain system.

If there is a drain problem, the parts that must be checked are drain hose, pressure switch, drain pump assembly, timer control.

Check if the drain hose at the back is kinked or blocked.

Test the pressure switch, blow into the small hose, and use a multimeter to check if switch has continuity.

Remove access panel and get to the drain pump hose to check for ablockage. You will need to disconnect the hose and collect the water.

Keep a container ready to collect water when you undo pump hose.

Ifall the rest is OK, test and eventually replace timer board.Problemwith water pump are far more commonly causing this problemsthenfaulty timer board.

Parts and diagrams available here.

Calypso washer - LD Code - clothes still wet

harborstuff,
The code on your machine stands for 'Long Drain'. Ld flashes if it takes longer than 5 minutes to pump out water to a point where the operating pressure switch resets. I would bet that the bath mats left a bunch of stuff stuck in the recirculation pump hose, or pump itself, and the water cannot be drained fast enough. Check the intake and exit hoses of the recirc pump. It's easiest to get to the pump through the front panel of the machine(click here). Looks like this: click here. Hope this helps.
(Definitely get under there and check to make sure the pump hoses are not clogged. At $129 it's an expensive fix for a $10 bath mat that clogged up the hose with fuzz. 'know what I'm sayin'' :o) )

BTW, I have the maintenance manual & have experience at replacing the recirc. pump, control board, motor board, touchpad, & lid switch so far.

LD is on my display-nothing will clear it and washer doesnt drain

the ld code means a long drain, what you probably have is something blocking the drain pump.
you can get to the drain pump from the back of the unit and it will be the pump on the left as you face the back.
you will need to remove the hose going into the pump and be ready for water to come out. sorry but you need to check inside the hose as there will be something blocking it. like a coin or some lint or a small sock.
when you get the item out of the hose then it should work again. you do not need to reset the control. once it knows the unit is draining properly it will be ok.

Cabrio Washer LD error code

Is there water in the bottom of the tub? If yes then open back of washer and remove drain pump (on left side) and pull off of tub and clear whatever is blocking its impeller.
If the water is all gone and drained but pump stays on for several minutes and then gives "LD" fault then open back and check the small clear tube that is attached to the tub. Make sure is not blocked with debris and check tube and tub for anything that could block the small clear tube. If these are ok then remove 3 screws in back of the control panel, pull open control panel and check the clear tub all the way up from the tub to the washer controller board (computer) make sure it is not kinked or disconnected. If not then the problem is most likely the pressure sensor on the (computer). This unit will have to be replaced.
You can test the sensor by doing the following: 1. When the "LD" fault comes on start by pressing the pause button. then pull the clear tube off of the computer board. Then attach a tight fitting drinking straw over the sensor. Press the start button and wait for 60 seconds - If the washer does not start the spin cycle on its own after the 60 seconds then **** on the drinking straw that you attached to the pressure sensor earlier. The sucking action should reset the sensor thus telling the computer that the water is drained and it will start the spin cycle. Just remember if you have to do this to get the washer to spin - that means the sensor is damaged most likely from moisture traveling up the tube over time. The computer board will need to be replaced. I believe it costs $205 without shipping. Hope this helps.

Ld code

Rod, there a two pumps on this model, drain and recirculation. The back panel is fairly easy to remove. Once the back panel is removed the drain pump will be on the left looking at it from the back. You can remove the hoses to the pump and check to see if any thing is caught in the hoses or the impeller itself. Careful the edges on the panel can be sharp. It's ok to tip the washer forward so it will be easier to work on. Then again, you could call for warranty service. If the service man is a half way decent cat, he won't charge you.
