If i remember correctly ten blinks means a high voltage error.
The only thing you could try is unplugging the power cord then plug it back in and try turning on the tv. If it still won't turn on try unplugging the power cord for five hours or longer and try again. If it still won't turn on it would be best to find a local repair shop that works on sony tv's and have them repair it for you.

5 blinks means AKB detected. Try turning down all 3 screen adjustments slightly.

SOURCE: Sony Screen keeps Blinking

If the red LED blinks 5 times you have a AKB error. It is caused by the CRTs trying to balance the color, and failing. Its an annoying problem that happens when the CRTs get old. If its just beginning you can balance or slightly turn up the screen voltage to the CRTs to remove the problem, if its in the end stages, the CRTs may need to be replaced. This is however, very expensive. If you are daring and safe around high voltage, pop off the speaker grille, open the front panel up and find the focus block. Don't poke around! those big red wires have 30,000 volts running through them! The focus block is a black square box with six knobs on it. Three are labeled screen, three labeled focus. You will see each row labeled R, G, B for red green and blue. The writing is tiny. Mark all three screen knobs with a colored marker so you know where they started. Then turn each one up slightly. If you have a picture, put it to a black screen or blank input. Turn each knob up just unit you see the color over drive and turn it back down to black. You want to set it just below retrace to maintain black level but drive the CRT fully. Setting this is hard but may fix an AKB issue.

Picture and sound turn on and off

I believe that model has a logic board in it and that is what it sounds like to me. That is just off top of my head, but I believe if you will notice the standby light it will be blinking so many blinks and stop and then blink again. If so this is a code that you can look up on the Samsung web site and plug in your model and it should tell you what just say ~ 4 blinks means. I worked on so many and it has been a while but I believe the last one I had was a Samsung and I put a logic board in it. If I can be of any further assistance please let me know.

Tv wont come on and a red light is blinking. I have a Sony Wide screen projection TV model kp-46wt520

Can you unplug the TV for about 15 seconds, and then plug back in and watch the stand-by light. Tell me how many time the stand-by light blinks in regular intervals. If it doesn't blink at all, you need to change a fuse on the g-board. Once this is done run back through the stand-by blink light process, and more troubleshooting can be done if problem isn't already solved. If the stand-by light just keeps blinking with a count over ten just tell me, and I'll look for other possibilities.

No picture but has sound

The problem can be caused by a bad sustain board (Ysus Zsus) , the popping sound is often caused by a capacitor blowing up.
The TV must be taken apart and tested before eventually replacing sustain boards.

No picture blinking stand by light

I hve worked on a number of these units , your description is typical of a shorted blue picture tube. The protection circuits in the tv detect that there is a problem thus shutting the unit down to prevent further damage. Sony had a bad run of picture tubes in this series. The replacement cost of the tube is about $250 plus labor. My estimate would be for the repair about $400-500 depending on where you live and how honest your local technican is. I will caution you however, that you could replace this tube and the red or green could go. These would not be covered by the technicians warranty. When these sets are working, they have a superb picture and it is easy to get lured into fixing them. Scrivitron
