Colour Printing on a Samsung clp 500

Hi I cannot get the printer to print in colour but it produces perfect black and white. I have not switched off the colour printing and this has happened suddenly.

    Of course I have checked the toner level by the way the printer is a laser!!

Color cartrige could be clogged , may need to be reseated, cartrige may be defective , or worse the printer cannot detect or command catrige to produce ink
try cleaning the cartrige with special cleaner kit
check contact points on cartrige for burnt spots
see if there is ink coming out of the bottom of the cartrige after cleaning

Try to print a test page directly from the printer.not from the computer.if the print comes proper that means the printer is perfect and you have to adjust your computer settings.
if the printout does not come properly when you directly give a test print from printer that means its definately the cartridge issue.
also try reloading the drivers of the printer again if there is a printer setting problem and its not getting adjusted.reloading the drivers again will automatically create new proper settings without doing anything.

Did you change the ink before this error happen...

check the cartridge if there's still a color ink on the tank.

Try unplugging printer from the power and connecting it back.

Try also extracting all toners and putting toners back.

    Try First unplugging the printer from the main power, waiting five minutes, and connecting it back.

    This will reset the problem in case it is a setting pronlem.

    If this does not work, check on the computer, go to printer settings and check that the print settings are not set to back and white.

    If that did not work, try extracting all toners cartridges, power cycle the printer, and fit the toners back, following the toner installation cycle.

Yes, it is true that most of Color printers will not allow you to print document if one or more of the recommended Cartridge of the printer is empty or removed from the printer. for printing only black, the better option will be to change your printer settings while printing a document. ex: when on a document ,and your press Ctrl+P for document printing, there is a option where you can select print color as black and the printer will print your document in Black only.

You need to take it a couple steps further after your test print. Sounds like your print heads need cleaning or your cartridge may need aligning. It's best to do this each time you install a new cartridge. get more information and help from here .

Black toner

I had the problems with white smear type fading on one side of the page , when pritning black, but colour printing seems OK. Did everything suggested in the manual and more. Changed toner. Been working on it a week.  (I got 2000 pages out of that thing). 
Now I have the solution. Bin the Samsung and buy a Canon.

Printer print blue instead of black

I have the same problem with my ip 5200, when printing a document in plain black.. I spoke to canon support and they suggested to save the .doc document as a txt file before printing. It works. Not too sure if this uses any colour ink to produce the black.

You can also set the printer on grayscale. However, the printer uses the colour ink to produce black.... hence printing in black & white becomes rather expensive.

If anyone has drivers to fix this problem please let me know...

Printing photos

its ok I solved it! I didn't realise that all the photo cartridge does is gloss over the colour picture produced by the colour cartridge. I simply had to replace the colour cartridge which had run out, so now its all working perfectly!!

Deactivating colour printing

You may do it in your Software Side While Printing. Do notalter Hardware settings for this Purpose. Because its meant for color Printing.
