I have philips go gear 1gb ipod. ...the moment i turn on the player i get the message "connect to pc and use device manager to repair". but i connect to
pc the ipod folder was not open .i cannot do anything...can u suggest me some solutions

Connect your mp3 player to the computer.
Open the Philips Device Manager
Run the Repair function.
If the Device Manager does not recognize the player, connect the player to the computer (while the player is in the OFF position) while holding in the volume + button. Continue holding the vol + button for 5-15 seconds until a window pops up on the computer screen that says Found New Hardware Wizard. Follow the directions and it will lead you to do a Repair in the Philips Device Manager.
If this strategy doesn't work, your player is screwed. Call Philips and find out how to get an in-warranty replacement (or take it back to the store).
