Yet another Black screen issue

I have a 36" CRT TV that was working fine one morning, then all of a sudden the screen went black. The sound went with the picture. I am not really worried about the fact that this TV is solid-state. I am a Communications and Navigations systems repair tech for the AF, I just don't know enough about TVs to start troubleshooting. I haven't been able to find any schematics. I haven't opened it so I haven't mess with anything yet; however, a friend of mine wants to help me with it this weekend. Any good tips on where to start and where to find schematics? Thanks

This manual is avail as a download at http://www.servicemanuals.net The first thing I would check would be the STR regulator IC in the main power supply, that is if the standby supply is good.

The screen went black

You can try plugging it in to your tv via a component cable and see if it works. If it does then you have a screen issue, if not, then you have a mobo issue. either way, sell it on ebay.
