RCA D52W20 HDTV TRIES TO TURN ON 3 TIMES BUT WONT POWER UP

TV WORKED FINE LAST NIGHT WHEN I CUT IT OFF, BUT THIS MORNING OUT OF THE BLUE TELEVISION WONT POWER UP. NORMALLY I PRESS POWER,HEAR SOUND,AND AFTER ABOUT 10 SECONDS SCREEN COMES ON. NOW I PRESS POWER, GREEN LIGHT COMES ON, I HEAR A WHISTLE THEN SHUTS DOWN. IT REPEATS THIS 3 TIMES EVERYTIME YOU ATTEMPT TO TURN THE SET ON. ALL I WANT TO KNOW IS WHAT HAPPENED? COULD IT BE THE TEMPERATURE? IT DID GET KIND OF COLD LAST NIGHT.

The power button light blinks a few times but no power afterwards. RCA D52W25 is dead. I lightly shook the TV last night and it worked until this morning.

These units are famous for loose solder connections at the high voltage transformer and for bad capacitors in the power supply. Have a repair shop check it out for you. You have to remove the Deflection PCB to do these repairs. Thanks
