SOURCE: dishwasher not working

Nothing by the sound of it. The humming may mean the main pump is stuck. If you are able, remove the pump & turn the impellor by hand (or screwdriver) just to make sure its free moving. Put it back into machine & see what you get. Could also mean that the capacitor on the main pump (if it is a capacitor start motor) has failed.

Hi,

Below is a link showing how to clean out the sump area below the spray arms. If you want to clean the top filter when taking it apart, vinegar works to dissolve a lot of the deposits.

Bottom of my Bosch dishwasher not cleaning dishes, top tray OK have cleaned / taken apart

Carefully inspect the lower spray arm for a crack or separation.
Also inspect the holes in the spray arm that may be stopped up with debris.
Remove and clean the filter in the front center of the tub.
Set the spray arm at the 12 o'clock position and start the washer. After 30 seconds open the door and check the position of the spray arm. Do thi several times to confirm the spray arm is rotating.

Very low pressure getting to spray arms

I removed the lower spray arm, and then the filter. I found that there was a lot of buildup under the filter area. I scraped the buildup off. I found that it was restricting the input of water flow to the pump

Hi,
There should be a plastic nut holding the spray arm. Remove the plastic nut and the spray arm should release.
Does this help you?

Dirt left on dishes on top tray; bottom tray washes fine

The broken bottom arm is probably preventing any water / water under pressure to get to the upper arm.
After you replace the lower arm, you should have much better cleaning in the top shelf.
While you are in there replacing the lower arm, recommend you remove the filter under it and clean the filter and any debris you find. Be careful of broken glass!
Good Luck!

Spray arm not attached

You may have stripped the threads on the spray arm or spray arm support. I believe the threads are reverse-threaded and since they are plastic, can easily be stripped if turned in the wrong direction. This has happened to me before. The solution is to replace the lower wash arm and spray arm support. You can find the parts at repairclinic.com. Just type in you model number and look for item numbers 830883 (spray arm support) and 9040141 (lower wash arm). You may also want to check out searspartsdirect.com as well. The parts will be located under the "Lower Washarm and Strainer Parts" section. The two sites do offer comparable pricing. Post back if you need further assistance. I hope this helps you.

How to remove upper spray arm of Maytag DWU 9200 BBE dishwasher

There is a plastic clip that holds the spray arm to the inlet line. This clip is in the center and has to be sqeazed together to release the arm.

Both upper and lower spray arms become clogged by different objects like paper, plastic, stems from fruits, etc... These are particles that cannot br dissolved be the detergents.
