Hello,
The graphic adapter my the Sharp MM20 is blown and I have not been able to find technical specifications to maintenance the laptop.
I'll be grateful for any of the following links or help :
* indications for opening the casing (I don't want to crack the plastic)
* indication for a (compatible) replacement part (ATI card)
* maintenance guide ?
Thanks

Hi there. Your graphics controllers are supplied by ATI and is Radeon IGP-340M (RS200M) Unfortunately there is no Vista driver available for that HP laptop, even ATI don't supply a Vista driver for that model, it only has support for XP.
The standard VGA adapter comes automatically with the OS. You can try one thing...Go to device manager, find the entry for the Radeon card, and delete it. Next, shut down the PC and then restart the machine. The OS will automatically find and install the appropriate driver.
I have Sony Vaio VGN-CR26GN/B Laptop.I have Intel processor and ATI Mobility Radeon X2300 graphic card.I need NEW UPDATED drivers for ATI Mobility Radeon X2300 Graphic card.OLD Drivers are causing performance issues.There are no new drivers for ATI MOBILITY RADEON X2300 graphic card on ATI.com and AMD website and other websites.I have searched the web but the result is nothing.I have also searched Sony website for drivers but they have not updated for a longtime.Please PLEASE Give me the link for NEW Updated drivers for this Graphic card Model:ATI Mobility Radeon X2300 on my email.ThankYou
that would depend on what motherboard you have. You can find out what motherboard/graphics solution you have by using a utility like belarc advisor and then download the appropriate driver from http://ati.amd.com/support/driver.html
There is no replacement for this as the graphics controller is onboard, as in built into the motherboard and not a seperate dedicated graphics card.
You can try updating the driver but i would firstly go to my computer>right click>properties>hardware tab>device manager>click '+' sign on display adapters, select the adapter and right click and select uninstall.
Restart pc and the graphics driver will be reinstalled.
If no change, then it could be that the lcd or the back lighting is faulty and requires a qualified repairer.
