Intermittent Enabling I recently bought a Linksys WRT160N router as my went south. I have a wired computer tied to the router and it works fine. I have a wireless laptop that is connected (wireless - G) to the router and works fine. I went to attach a third computer, a wireless desktop (wireless - G) and at first, when selecting to connect, I got the message "Wireless Network Unavailable". I then check the excryption on the router and laptop. Then I changed it to the level of encryption that the non-connected laptop had. Now when I select to connect, the message first says "Enabled", then it says "Wireless Not Connected" after a few seconds, then it cycles back to enabled and so on.

First you can try to uninstall and reinstall the driver of the wireless adapter on that desktop. Unplug and re-plug the wireless card. If it is a wireless PCI card, make sure the antenna is tightly screwed on. Install just the driver of the wireless card and not the utility/software that came with it. You can also try to change the channel on the wireless router by going to the router's user interface. If you're on channel 6, choose channel 11 and save the settings. Then power cycle the router, unplug the power for 30 seconds then plug it back in. Check now if you can connect wireless.

If not then connect the computer to the router. If you are connecting a wireless computer then disable the wireless connection on the computer. open the set up page of the router. change the wireless network name to something different that you never used before. change the standard channel to 11. save the settings. Try to connect to the wireless network. Check if you see the new network name ? If you see the new then try t connect and see if that works.
