Unfortunately, these are old processors and I don't see any available new. Newegg.com lists a couple available as refurbished. You may be better off getting a new computer with either a Intel I3 or current AMD processor.

(do not attempt to use a CPU that your motherboard doesn't support. It probably won't boot.)

You need the motherboard user guide for clock settings etc but first ensure that the socket set (number and distribution of pins) on the new CPU matches that on your board. You should find a user guide on the manufacturers website, follow links for support and downloads.

According to this, *********** board needs to have a PLGA775 CPU socket.

Assuming so, its a case of setting the clock jumpers to match the processor speed.

every other detail...but...motherboard...assuming it has onboard sound.. google drivers for the make and model of your motherboard soundcard should be there somewhere.

look at the brand of your mainboard then download the driver from ther website.

You dont need a driver for Intel processor.

it means

Processor speed:- 3ghz
Cache memory:- 1mb
Bus:- 800 mhz
and model:- sl8hz

try downloading iObit Advanced System care, and run all of the programs, sounds like you have a registry problem. If there is something wrong with the processor, the computer will not even show a screen.

From what you posted, your processor uses socket 478. You could pop it into any of these micro atx boards
