Hello

This player is compactable with DVDs, ACDs, Video CDS, CDs and JPEG files. You can't play the following type of discs. Laser discs, CD-1, CD-ROM, DVD-ROM, or discs recorded using other boradcast standards (ie PAL or SECAM); CDG discs.

If you want the user manual to this player, inform me by fixya comment, along with your email address. I'll send a copy of the user manual to you by return mail. It has all details. I can't send it to you by this window, as it does not allow ma to upload PDF files by it.

Why doesn't my recorded dvd-r movies play on my magnavox dvd player

Does your DVD player support that version of DVD disk? Not all players will handle DVD-R. Check the manual for compatibility.
Try recording to DVD+R then see if your player will play it.
Also, in what format (.avi, .flv, .mov, etc.) was the item recorded and is your player able to handle that format? Again, check the manual for compatibility.

What fix to apply to HL-DT-ST DVD+-RW GWA4164B in Dell Dimension E310 so it can read/play a dvd movie?

Try the following:

1. Go to the Dell.com support site and be sure you have the latest updates for your computer's operating system and the DVD drive, especially the DVD drive's drivers BIOS.

2. Make sure you have the software to play the movie, like Sonic, Windows Media Player, Power DVD, Quicktime, etc. and be sure they are the latest versions.

3. Depending on the movie format, not all DVD drives will play all DVDs. The most common discs are DVD-R and DVD+R and file types like *.avi, *.mpeg, *.mp4, *.mov and then commercial formats. Also try the movie in another machine or DVD player and see what happens.

I just bought and set up the vhs to dvd program but when i coppied the video onto the disc and tried to play ti in the dvd player it said disc error.i made sure i followed the hook up directions.help!

You have either used a disc that is not compatible with your dvd player, or used the wrong file system for the dvd and/or format, have not finalized the dvd recording.
If you use a dvd-r for recording, the disc has to be finalized, regions use different formats of video(UK=PAL, USA=NTSC)
The easiest way to use your disc would be to convert the video to avi format(xvid divx mp4/3) and burn to a disc as data format.
Download ANY VIDEO CONVERTER FREE,
and ASHAMPOO BURNING STUDIO6 FREE .
Use the converter to change the video to avi, use the studio to burn the video as a data disc, you can get up to 14hours per standard dvd(28 hrs on a dual layer). Put the disc in and it will play as a DivX dvd.

My MUSTEk MP-100 does not load avi (DVIX/XVid) files

The player actually loads divx (.avi) format files. It does not loads some .mp4 format files.

Can't play divx or avi

Thats because Divx or AVI is not a recognized format for a DVD Player. If you are burning a disc you need a software that can create a DVD Format Disc from an AVI as all DivX are AVIs. I reccomend Ulead DVD Workshop 2:

Sony CD/DVD Player DVP-NS50P not playing my avi files DVD+RW

You need to convert avi files to dvd format before burning, otherwise the player won't recognize them. Google "avi to dvd" and you'll find a number of free or pay programs that will do the conversion for you.

DVD movie onto a CD-RW

first off, your not going to get dvd quality on cd, if ur talking about a standard dvd that u wish to put on cd, dont even bother.

4GB(DVD) to 700MB(CD) ? re-encoding it to that size will look like crap.

enjoy
