Pinnacle studio should work for this camera. It will be recognized in Windows XP or Vista with the correct data cable plugged into the computer without any additional drivers.

I don't know if Sony has free software available for this machine any more. You can Sony.com and go to the link associated with the country that you bought your camcorder in.
