I have an HP PSC 1350v all-in-one that hasn't given me any problems until a few days ago when it started just printing the top half of a line...sometimes. Now it has become more and more frequently. I've changed ink cartridges and aligned it, nothing I know to do has helped.
Having the exact same problem: ink is only printing half of each line, if at all, and it's faded on top of that. I've tried cleaning and aligning the cartridges several times, but to no avail. This is only black ink, I should note. The color ink works fine!

i bet it is but you could also try reinstalling the printer, setting it as default, making sure that when you send a request it is completely sent to the printer before closing the apllication. do this and you're in the clear
it may just be a slow printer head, maybe an upgrade is in order. look on the box for page printing speed.
it may also be that you have the resolution set too high for basic printing. try turning this down slightly.

Please connect the USB cable of the printer before installing the printer software.
sounds like the scanner/copier engine(same device, by the way) has gone way UnHappy. time for a service call or a recycling effort on that machine..it's a major component..and buried deep inside machine.
