I have a Onyko TX-SR303 5.1 Receiver and sound is only coming out of left front speaker.

I have a Onyko TX-SR303 5.1 Receiver. It has been fine for the last 7 years, no problems. Today, the only speaker that is omitting sound is the left front speaker and the sub-woofer. All speakers however work in the DVD Full Mono. All other listening modes seem to be running out of the left front speaker. I'm thinking maybe to reset the receiver somehow. Not sure what to do.

Could be the IC that controls the various sound/surround channel modes. Had that happen on my Pioneer receiver.
Charged me close to 200 bucks to fix!

SOURCE: no surround sound

So your saying that you have no rear channel. Some recivers use a single stereo output ic for both sides on the rear speakers. you could have a defect with this IC . Anther thing Im sure you check3ed the obvious ie : the switch is on suround sound? If there is a front to rear fader is it in the middle? Good Luck

SOURCE: Tuner Omits No Sound - Onkyo TX-SR605 7.1 Channels Receiver

Make sure your receiver is hooked up to proper AM and FM antennae. Try switching to AM, scan stations. If you hear AM static and/or weak signals the problem could be antennas are not hooked up. FM has AFT which blocks out weak or noisey stations and you wont hear anything without ant.

SOURCE: One speaker only works in Mono mode

I would be checking the set up mode , you might have it set to left or right channel only , but in mono mode both speakers will come on through one channel

I would like to configure my receiver tx-sr303 to use the 5.1 configuration?

I'm assuming Onyko.

Get the manual out and assemble the necessary source(s) and speakers. They'll come with manuals, too.

7.1 speaker setup: no sound coming from right front/surr speakers

Solution to having no sound coming from certain speakers in a 7.1 speaker setup for TX-SR606 receiver when playing a DVD.

Review the cable setup for the DVD player since it was identified as the source of the problem. Best to unplug and plug in the cables to ensure they contact the back of the receiver's RCA jacks. Redo the microphone setup for Audyssey 2EQ calibration. A good chance that it is the cable that may have caused the malfunction and loss of sound from the speakers. The cables can come loose during setup and not plugged all the way to the back of the RCA jacks or a defective cable causing signal loss.

Onkyo TX-SR706; Turntable output only from one speaker

Try some troubleshooting to check whether its the turntable or the the receiver.

What happens if you exchange the output cables of the turntable from left to right. Does the problem shift?
Does the sound changes from left to right speaker?

Similarly try on the inputs of the Receiver.. does the problem shift...?
This way you will be able to isolate the problem, whether with the receiver or the turntable....

Let me know, we can trouble shoot it further....

Very low ouput from subwoofer preout

The problem was that some subwoofers (inluding my velodyne model) cannot process the LFE signals through the line level inputs on its amps, so the other way to run your subwoofer is to run the front left and right speaker outputs from your receiver to the speaker-level inputs on your sub, and then plug your front and left speakers into the soeaker level outputs on the sub. you have to set the onkyo receiver to "Subwoofer: No". that way the LFE signals are sent through the front speaker channels and you will get the same BASS output as if using the line-level input. O So yes it does require a bit more speaker cable, but it works fine now.
