Question about HP Pavilion Media Center a1330n - AMD Athlon 64 2.4GHz Desktop Computer (Open Box Product, Limited Avai... (EL466AAABAOB)
When I turn on the HP AMD desktop in the morning, it made a long beep sound and the computer doesn't start up.
HP BIOS beep codes

Because Hewlett-Packard (HP) uses a variety of motherboards and BIOSs, their computers use a variety of beep codes. Instead of listing each model's beep codes, links are provided to the support pages of several popular Hewlett-Packard desktops.
Note: Hewlett-Packard and Compaq merged in 2002 and the new company dropped the Compaq name from all but a few consumer product lines--such as Presario desktops and notebooks. This table lists only HP-branded desktops, while the next table lists Compaq-branded machines.

Hi sorry this is long, but I figured the more info, the easier to figure out the 'fix'!
I have a compaq sr1703wm. Winxp sp2. I stupidly ended a bunch of processes in task manager (someone said to do this for faster dl). Anyway, when I ended one that was a 'network process', a box popped up that said something like 'network ending in 60 sec. & pc will be restarted'. I couldnt hit cancel or anything, so it shutdown, but wouldn't restart! There was a long beep, not really a pause in the beep. My moniter stayed black, but the power button on the moniter kept blinking.
Its not the moniter because when I unplug the monitor from the pc it stays lit & the monitor logo comes on until I plug it back into the pc (even though the pc is off, moniter does the samething - goes black & power button blinks!)
I tried everthing, but it wouldn't boot. After a few hrs. of turning it off & on, it started up. It said 'new hardware found' (which I have no new hardware). Device manager had yellow mark near Other Devices: Video Controller & also something was wrong w/ my network card or adapter (no doubt from me playing w/ task manager!). I tried to update driver, none could be found. I couldnt find much help on the web.
I then tried to do a repair w/ win cd, but when I shut it down so I could do it - my pc did the same beep & wouldnt come on. After 2 more hrs. of turning it on & off, it came on, only this time there was no internet connection! So I tried system restore, when it shut down to do that - it didnt come back on for 2 days!
I just now got it back on & this time I have internet. It still has the video controller sign (& says its new hardware) but there doesnt seem to have the network card problem anymore. But now a Microsoft box says 'because I have so much hardware it doesnt recognize I need to 'activate' my windows again'!
I do have sound & I had NO problems until I stupidly ended the processes. I cant really afford $200 to bring it to a shop, so any advice will be greatly appreciated. Hopefully, it doesnt shut down or need to be restarted for anything before I get the right answer! :) Thank you so much in advance!
