If you set progressive scant On by accident, you must reset the unit. Remove any disc from the unit and close the disc tray. See that "disc" is displayed on the display window. Now press STOP and hold it for more than 5 seconds before releasing it. The video output will be restored to the standard setting and picture will once again be visible on a conventional analog TV or monitor.

Had same problem with my zenith DVT 723 combo dvd/vcr. called zenith customer service, said to:
1) Remove DVD from player.
2) Turn DVD off
3) Turn DVD on
4) Hold stop button on dvd for 30 seconds
Worked like a charm

No suggestion; as others, thank you very much.

I was watching a DVD and wanted to see what progressive scan would do. Stupid move. Did not get to watch DVD and lost use of player for about a week until my son suggested I contact you all. Smart kid!

Thanks again.

This worked for me but instead of showing Disk it showed "Progressive scan" I held in the stop button on the DVD section of the unit for about 5 seconds then it changed to Goldstar worked fine after that. God what a stupid way to do this, but it just figures that a cheapO company couldn't afford real programmers. Thanks for the help saved me a paid call to tech support.

Progressive scan mode

THis one should be easy--just read it in the manual--reset your video mode by removing any disks from the player, close the drawer, and then press and hold the "stop" button for five seconds. The green power button should flash red and back to green. Hope that solves it.

THIS IS COVERED IN THE MANUAL. I DID THE SAME THING A YEAR AGO AND RESET IT BY FOLLOWING THE INSTRUCTIONS IN THE MANUAL. DON'T HAVE IT HANDY AT THE MOMENT BUT YOU CAN FINDI IT ONLINE. KEEP IN MIND THAT THE PROGRESSIVE MODE ONLY WORKS WHEN YOU HAVE IT CONNECTED VIA PROGRESSIVE SCAN.

Hi,

If your DVD players is set to Progressive Scan Mode, tehn ther would be a light indicating it is so. The light is labeled P?scan on the bottom right side of your display window.

You can disable/turn OFF the P/Scan mode in the "Setup menu".

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

DVD/VCR stuck in Progressive scan mode

With NO DISK in the DVD player PRESS PLAY, (display will say "no disk" or something similar) then PRESS STOP AND HOLD FOR 5-10 SECS. Our DVD was stuck on Progressive Scan Mode for over 1 year, this fixed it. I had tried the press stop, press stop and hold while playing a movie, but not while there was no disk. Try it & Good Luck!!!!!!!!
